Jonathan Walker teaches English as a foreign Language and has specialised in teaching English for academic and specific uses. Presently he is working at the Institució Cultural del CIC (ICCIC), where he collaborates with Higher Education institutions such as Institute Químic de Sarrià (IQS, Universitat Ramon Llull) and Elisava, Escola Superior de Disseny i Enginyeria de Barcelona (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). During his career, he has taught English for specific uses within the context of Design, Engineering, Journalism, Audio-visual communications, Politics and Sociology. He is also currently working as an associate teacher at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) in the Facultat de Traducció I d’Interpretació. Jon is currently doing research into the merits of translation as a classroom tool in Language teaching. He is presently conducting a study into this area with particular focus on inter-cultural linguistic differences.
