Evaluation of gender equity in Early Childhood education: Parallel study in the Department of La Paz (Bolivia) and the Autonomous Community of Catalonia (Spain)

This research project springs from the experience as teachers in Early Childhood education teacher training at Ramon Llull University (URL) in Barcelona, as well as from the relationship of some members of our team with the Bolivian teaching community, particularly the teaching staff at the Salesian University of Bolivia (USB ) in La Paz.

We start from the apparent permanence of gender stereotypes in society and the marked feminization of Early Childhood Education teacher training studies. Thus, we intend to get to know what opinions current teachers have regarding gender equity in their schools in two very different cultural contexts and to provide elements for reflection and change.
